The large classroom rug will be a meeting point in my class. It will be used for community circle, mini lessons in reading and writing, math talks, and a place to gather to listen closely to instructions for art projects, and as a place to gather for presentations from guests.
The bean bags will be used for individual reading and work. The bean bags and a clipboard allow students to leave their desks and often find a secluded corner or spot to work undisturbed. Students enjoy not being at their seats and being able to work in a non traditional way whether as a group or by themselves.
