My students are located in a high poverty area. Many students are on free or reduced lunch. Their economic status does not preclude their love of music or of learning. They are very bright, inquisitive and always wanting to learn and experience more.
In my first year at this school, my choir is an award-winning ensemble and has even gone to state and received a Superior rating. We are one of the best choirs in the state. This was a first year performing the highest level of music for Middle School (Level IV) and they passed with flying colors. My students are so ambitious, they want to do Level V music. Just saying that is making me smile to myself. We really need sturdy new risers, music folders and music stands. I know, one thing at a time.
Anything you can donate will help TREMENDOUSLY. These kids are really deserving, just don't have access to the resources.
