Education during the pandemic has not been easy. In my inner-city school, students face many risk factors on a daily basis. And with the move to online and hybrid learning this year, many kids fell through the cracks. Emotional and socioeconomic pressures at home made it nearly impossible for students to remain focused on their classwork, even after districts put every resource into closing the technology gap.
As we return to full in-person learning next year, we know that that our students have a lot of ground to make up. They need help to review or learn the things they missed this past year, and they need the tools to move forward and be successful in the coming year. To help us stay organized, we will be using interactive notebooks in our math class.
These notebooks will be a place for kids to put their notes, work out problems, and create understanding of the content. They will be logs that will help kids study, stay accountable, and have high expectations for themselves. The resources I'm requesting are all resources that will help kids build and maintain their notebooks.
