Reeds are an ongoing financial struggle for many young musicians. This disposable component of woodwind instruments needs regular replacement, similar to changing the oil in your car. The average student will be able to use one reed for up to two weeks, but no longer. Our most advanced students may be going through as many as two per week. Our parents and families are wonderfully supportive, but sometimes there just isn't money for reeds each month. As a result, sometimes students have to sit out simply because there are no more appropriate reeds in the classroom that day. Please help us maintain a focused environment with uninterrupted learning by helping the students who can not always afford this expense.
