Thanks for visiting my Donorschoose page! I've been teaching for over a decade now at the same school. I love this school and our little community of students, families, and teachers.
My school does not receive as much funding as the other schools in the district because don't receive Title 1 funding (meaning we don't have enough students on the free lunch program to qualify for extra funding from the government), but we definitely have a large percentage of low-income students at our school.
As many of you know, teachers spend a lot of their own money on supplies, books, and furniture. I am one of those teachers. I'm lucky enough to teach at a school where the PTA helps provide some basic supplies, but it is still not enough. My classroom is always in need of things like pencils, paper, and glue, but I'm creating requests for materials that will enhance the learning experience in my classroom.
