A strong foundation in literacy has been found to set students up for future success. For that reason, I implement a Readers Workshop curriculum, which is effective in teaching to the different learning needs and standards of my split 3rd/4th grade class. To teach using the Readers Workshop curriculum, a lot of materials are needed to both engage and motivate scholars to be life-long learners and readers. I am requesting 25 book bins in which students will keep organized their Readers Notebook, where they express their thinking as they read and chronicle their progress as a reader, as well as their self-selected books from our classroom library.
Book bins for each student will help empower them to care for their reading growth and literacy by keeping organized their reading notes and their classroom library books.
By allowing each and every student to have a safe and special place to keep their literacy belongings, they can have more ownership over the literacy progress and truly grow into life-long readers.
