Our school is a large public high school in New York City (approximately 2400 students). Our student population consists almost entirely of teens from low socio-economic families. Unfortunately education is not one of the priorities emphasized in most of their homes. As a staff our teachers work tirelessly to inspire our students to dream big, to have goals, and to learn the skills necessary to go out into the world and achieve them. We stress the importance of a good education as an essential tool for navigating life's obstacles. Opportunities for success are limited for our students, and we do whatever we can to foster an environment where success is attainable, not just in a classroom but in everyday life.
