Times are changing and the millennials are here. Our ever-changing technological world is facing children who thrive in technology enriched classrooms. Unfortunately, technology is expensive and does not always fall into our classroom budgets. I teach twenty-eight fourth graders who impress me everyday with their background knowledge on the subject of technology. The facts and figures prove the changing expectations of our students; students spend more time in front of computers, TVs, MP3 players and cell phones than ever before. As teachers, we are faced with too few resources to meet our students' needs. I teach in a Title One federally funded school. Our free and reduced lunch percentage exceeds 50% and we have anywhere from three to nine different languages spoken in our classrooms everyday. Students respond to and understand concepts better when technology is integrated.
