During distant learning, students will spend a significant amount of time looking at the computer screen. If they don't have books in their homes they will have to spend even more time on screen by reading books online. These books will be sent home with each student along with other school supplies and existing books from the classroom library to offset the time they have to spend on screen. I will send baggies of about a dozen books home with each student. I'd like to set up a plan where these baggies will be collected and exchanged with another student so that students get a new set of books every so often. The more books children have in their hands, the more they will read.
