As you may have heard, reading can do many things for us. Aside from health benefits such as improving memory, alleviating anxiety and improving sleep, reading can also teach empathy, improve vocabulary, enhance imagination and expand our knowledge.
Setting up classroom libraries can be both challenging and rewarding. Building a classroom library can begin by using personal materials, going to garage sales or even buying from used book stores. As with anything, this proves to be time consuming and generally not nearly comprehensive enough to meet the needs of every student/child.
We are seeking funds to support low reading level books, despite the fact it may not match the current grade level. We have placed focus on box sets, mystery, science, and history. Other examples would include visual encyclopedias, biographies with historical illustrations and picture support as well as other collections of low level books for struggling readers.
We hope to serve every reader who could benefit from this donation, whether it be for academic or personal gain.
