The music class showing the weakest performance in reading as evidenced by the least number of students meeting high standards on the FCAT 2.0 reading assessment is the chorus. There are a total of 18 students, with three at a Level 1, and five at a Level 2. The three Level ones are in the lowest 25%.
Our school is a Title I school with a "D" classification. This year's theme is "One School, One Goal". The school is located in the South Dade area serving nearly 600 students in grades 6-8. 82% of the learners receive free lunch meals, a small population are Limited English Proficiency, 24% receive services through Special Education. Demographics demonstrate a varied student body consisting of 50% of the learners are black, 40% Hispanic, 7% Anglo, 1% Asian, 0.4% Indian and 1% are multi-racial.
