Our school is on the east side of San Jose. We are located in an area that is highly impoverished. Most of my students live in homes that have rooms rented out. This means that 4-5 families live in a home that was built for one family. 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch. Very few of my students attended preschool and this year has been their first experience in school. Most of my students speak a language other than English at home and have happily struggled diligently to interact in class. All this being said, my students love school. They love learning, sharing, and being with friends. They will love the challenge of working at their own level on educational games that support my regular daily instruction.
