My students are from a very poverty stricken area in Bakersfield. Our campus is 50% transient, meaning that many of our students do not have permanent addresses. Our population is 95% free and reduced lunch. Most of our students do not have computers or Internet access at home. Next year they will be state tested on computers, therefor it is imperative that they have the skills, resources, and an opportunity to be as competitive with other students who may have more resources at home.
