"It takes a village to raise a child" - African Proverb. As a donor, I am asking you, on behalf of my students, to become part of the village that will help raise these children to become successful, contributing members of society. I teach in a community that is rich in diversity and culture, but sadly poor in socio-economic opportunity. I am honored to teach 32 4th and 5th grade students who are bright and eager learners. I spend much of my time teaching students how to conduct research to help understand and make sense of their world. Knowledge is power, and I want my students to have every tool possible to enable them to become anything they want to be when they grow up.
