My students are currently having a difficult time staying in their seats and staying on task. I believe having flexible seating and educational games available to these students will be beneficial.
Most of my class are below second grade and lack reading and math foundational skills and I believe these materials will help bridge this gap. The COVID-pandemic prevented them from building these skills along with their fine motor skills. My students learn best when the lesson and activities are engaging and hands-on.
The math games in my project will help my students develop the skills for the standard 2.OA.B.2: Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies. The stools will help them focus because they are currently having a hard time being in a classroom after COVID. The phonic games will help my students develop skills for the standard RF2.3: distinguishing grade level phonics skills such as long and short vowels. The whiteboards will help with their fine motor skills and practice math, phonics, and writing skills.
