My students typically come from a poor socioeconomic background, and are a very diverse group of individuals. They all learn differently and need a variety of activities, including hands-on and interactive activities to keep then engaged. Several of them come to me feeling like they don't like science, or they are not good at science, or that science is boring. I want to help them develop a love of science and build their confidence in science.
