My students are a wonderfully diverse group of learners. They speak Vietnamese, Spanish, Cantonese, Tagalog, English, and Arabic at home and have families who are committed to their success. They are funny and rambunctious, but also serious about learning. We are a multicultural and multilingual elementary school whose mission is to engage students to become enthusiastic, lifelong learners who will make positive contributions to their families and their communities. We identify as a Community School, which is a strategy for organizing community resources around student success. We subscribe to a holistic view of our students and employ an integrated focus on academics, socio-emotional supports, and family engagement activities that lead not only to improved student learning, but also to stronger families and healthier communities. We root our identity in an unwavering belief in the power of our relationships with our students, their families, our colleagues and community partners.
