We are a Title 1 school; this means that more than 70% of our students are from low income families. Despite the financial challenges that our community faces, our school has been ranked in the top 5% of public schools in 2013. We do not have much parental support so our achievement is credited to the systems that we have in place at our school and the hard work of our students. Most of our funding goes toward staffing for our intervention classes since most of our students do not go to preschool. We need to play catch up from the first day these kids come to our school. We don't have the luxury of funding for equipment. However, we make it work with what we have.
