I鈥檓 still providing distance learning activities everyday online, but for some students, it鈥檚 impossible for them to engage in the activities because they don鈥檛 have the necessary supplies at home. We鈥檝e done numerous virtual labs, and while they鈥檝e been fun, there鈥檚 nothing like actual hands-on activities.
The supplies listed will be used to create various science activities that the students can actively engage in at their homes. This way, students who weren't engaging in some of the online lab experiments (due to a lack of materials) will now have the opportunity to engage and interact just like everyone else. Providing the students with the necessary supplies that they'll need will put everyone on the same playing field and give them an equal opportunity to learn.
The supplies listed will be separated and distributed to each student individually. Students will then use these supplies during the Weather Unit to create 3-D clouds, the various layers of the Atmosphere, and a Water Cycle Pinwheel. When we get to the Energy Unit, they will use the supplies to create models of various Electrical Circuits, and a foldable of their choice on the six types of simple machines.
