My blind and visually impaired students attend a typical public school in a low-income neighborhood. They face a variety of challenges and their families have very limited resources. School is often the only place where they have access to technology as well as arts and music programs. We use a variety of arts and crafts materials to create and modify curricula for them, but often school funding does not provide for these little "extras" that are so crucial for the success of our program. My students never fail to inspire me and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to help them be successful.
