My school has over 60% free and reduced lunch students. This means they are from low income families. Many of the students in my school are English language learners. Many of these students only have access to computers and to the Internet at school. Because our school is so poverty stricken we do not have many computers available for students to use regularly and we have no access to tablets of any kind. Their poverty status and lack of access to computers and modern technology makes it much harder for them to compete on the academic playing field.
