My 8th grade students are mostly from low-income homes, where English is not the primary language spoken in the home. They have applied to come to our urban school where there is an emphasis on academics and character to become college ready. My students deserve the same opportunities as affluent suburban students have. I hope to bridge some of the opportunity gap.
