My students attend a Title I School in an inner city school district, in Virginia. Ninety-five percent of our children receive free or reduced lunch. Many of our students do not have books at home. Some do not attend a Pre-K program, which limits exposure to letters, sounds, and books. Putting books in the hands of our students is critical to developing their desire to read, their love of literature, and familiarity with printed material.
