Our rural school serves around 550 students in Morgan County. 64% of our population are on free or reduced lunch and our diverse population includes a high percentage of nonspeaking or limited English speaking children. These children come from families where either one or both parents do not speak English. Our students are eager to learn and willing to take risks in order to learn the English language. Many students struggle on a daily basis to make sense of the very complicated language that we call English. Students work daily on learning how to communicate basic needs and using basis English words correctly. Our students yearn for more learning and as with all students, are enthusiastic when learning involves music.
