I teach 17 very active and wonderful first grade students. They have various academic abilities and range from being identified gifted to needing extra interventions to help achieve mastery in the Common Core Standards being taught. Our school is considered a high poverty school with 86% of the students on free and reduced lunch. Students that are not motivated by books are motivated with technology. Therefore, using two iPad minis would allow me to differentiate their instruction and use apps to meet their needs during centers and small group in writing, reading, and math. This will build an excitement in learning. My students are eager to learn and want to be successful academically. I love to see their faces light up as they learn new skills and develop an "I Can" attitude towards learning. Learning should be fun and creative. The two iPad minis would open the door to many opportunities for positive learning and growth as they are being used during center time and small group.
