Since returning to the building I am trying to engage my students as much as possible. In the classroom, we spend a lot of time working on meaningful projects, getting to know one another better and increasing social skills by encouraging them to work together daily.
Right now a lot of time is spent preparing activities and spirit days for the entire school. My classroom is a place where kids can be themselves and work together to create a welcoming environment for the school and everyone who attends.
This project is to create community and a sense of belonging at my school. We will be making spirit posters using the paint and tape for hanging those posters up around the school. We want to focus on mental health awareness signs and bring a positive message of hope and support to everyone affected by COVID-19 and how we can repair our campus culture.
