I teach kindergarten in a school that is really changing up its curriculum and demanding that our students learn to think, not produce worksheets, not memorize skill after skill, but to think deeply about characters in books, small moments in their lives that are to be written, and problem-solving techniques in math. This group of Kindergartners attend one of the most diverse schools in California with over 20 languages spoken. They come from a varied socioeconomic background and all have the drive to learn more.
