I teach at a suburban Title I middle school in southern California. Our students come from diverse neighborhoods and households, but share common goals of community and teamwork. Many students are first generation to graduate from high school. Even though we are only a middle school, I feel it is my responsibility to help each student find their individual path to college and career readiness. Through STEM, students develop the skills and passion they will need to compete in the 21st century.
