I work at a Title I School in Houston, Texas with around 1,100 students from Pre-K through 4th grade. We have many students coming from all over the world. Most students at my school are receiving free or reduced price lunch and are minorities. Many struggle in reading and/or math.
I am a Reading Interventionist, which means I pick up students that fall in the lowest 10% in Reading at their grade level. We have many that fit that criteria so I am not the only Reading Interventionist at our school. I service between 35 and 45 students from 1st through 3rd grade on a daily basis.
