This year I have 36 students. We are a very multicultural class. We have students that were born in Somalia, Ireland, Mexico, and of course, the good old USA. Although we would not be considered a low income school, our budget has been so depleted that there is no longer any funding for what the administration would consider to be extra curricular.
We must rely on our own finances or beg parents for anything above what the district allots our school. Even Kleenex has become a hot commodity. The parents have been generous in the past, but many are now suffering with the economic times.
