I teach ESL in a Middle School in one of New Jersey's urban districts. Most of my students have been in the United States for a few years, but they are all still learning to appreciate and love the English language through books. They are an eager group of students determined to master the English language. Most of their parents do not speak English, so school can be especially challenging for them since they have little help with school work at home. Many of them were born on refugee camps in other countries, so they have had their fair share of obstacles to overcome. Learning English is their challenge now, but they take it on with bright smiles and warm hearts every day.
