All of the students receive reading instruction through small group learning. This allows for a more personal approach to reading to reach the needs of all students on the correct instructional level. A number of tools and resources are needed to make this effective. Our reading instruction is vary specific as to how vocabulary is introduced, fluency is taught and practiced, and showing how reading and writing connect together. The Store and Display Teaching Cart will complement a guided reading instruction area. The dry erase surface will be used to introduce vocabulary, make words, and integrate literacy skills into small group instruction.
