We know that when students choose books for themselves and read for pleasure and enjoyment they grow their vocabulary and literacy skills very quickly. These books will help build out the library in my classroom so students can choose real books that are appropriate to their level and interesting to them. There will be books of all levels available for students to choose from as we engage in free choice reading throughout the week. Additionally, this project will help us create a space that feels welcoming and comfortable to kids which will be especially important as we invite them back to the classroom after so long away.
