I have chosen a variety of hands-on tools to help my students explore and understand their emotions and how they relate to and interact with their classmates. These include Mood Emotion Mirrors, Emotion Bears, Stack Build Emotion Kids, Social Emotional Photo Library, Feelings Dough Mats, and Sensory Beads. Each of these will be used in large and small group settings to promote Social Emotional Learning. I've also chosen a gift card from Teachers Pay Teachers, where I can purchase social emotional lesson plans and activities written by teachers. These are such important skills that are vital to a student's success - in school and in life. Learning to recognize and control emotions helps students in peer relationships and forms the basis for learning across the curriculum.
Preschoolers learn through play and hands-on activities are so important. The items I've chosen for my project will be used throughout our day - in circle time and in centers.
