Many of my students are poor, plan and simple. Many come from working class families that can barely make ends meet. Amazingly, they still love to come to school each day and are excited about learning something new. They were all beyond excited when I told them that we may have a chance to read books like "Old Yeller" and "Bridge to Terabithia"! These are classics as far as I am concerned, and only grow better with time.
