I have 24 awesome second graders mostly from low income households who love the consistency of school and are eager to learn everyday. Many do not have a variety of books to choose from within their homes and relay on our school to provide them with an opportunity to read difference genres of literature. Our school is on the border of Nassau and Suffolk County in Long Island, NY and our classroom population comprises mainly of African American and Hispanic students.
