I teach ninth and tenth grade English Language Arts in an inner city school that serves a high needs community. Over seventy percent of students qualify for free or reduced lunch, and at least the same amount struggle with reading and writing skills. My classes are regularly comprised of 25 to 30 students with varied abilities and interests.
