"The grass isn't greener on the other side. It is greener where YOU water it."
My second grade students attend school in rural, beautiful Hawaii. They are a wonderful group of students-so excited about life and so eager to learn.
This year, I adopted the flexible seating arrangement in my classroom, and it has been such a huge success. Students are even more engaged and excited to learn because they are offered choice-to sit where they want and where they are most comfortable to learn and explore.
I am trying to create a serene and inviting classroom for my students- by integrating social and emotional learning into my core curriculum to meet the needs of all learners.
I am also attempting to bring the outdoors in too by bringing in plants into my classroom. Studies show that students perform better and are less stress when surrounded by plants.
