A light table with accessories will give my preschoolers fun learning experiences that will enhance their sensory play. It will support their language development, fine motor skills, problem-solving skills, cognitive growth, and social interaction. Preschoolers learn best through exploration, using their senses to understand their world. I want to help foster a love of learning in each of my students.
Some of the activities that my students could engage in: building our names with special translucent letter tiles, exploring and creating colors with color paddles, counting and sorting, using various stencils, using the light table to trace our letters and names, manipulating shapes to become more aware of spatial relationships through the use of translucent geometric pieces while discovering the basics of geometry, and viewing x-rays of various types of animals and shells (just to name a few).
