My students are middle school: 6th, 7th & 8th graders. We are a rural Texas school with not many businesses in our area for support. We have a population of about 260 at the middle school, and my art classroom population is just over 150. I have a very small budget and most of my money comes from fund-raising each semester or donations from the few businesses to which we have access.
I was approached by the student committee chair for the Energy and Environment committee at our high school to see if I would like my classes to create stepping stones for a school garden. This would be a great project for my classes. It might even be good if we could add a mosaic bench or two, as well.
