I teach in an alternative program designed to support students who were overaged and undercredited. Many of my students did not attend school, or wandered the halls throughout the school day. Our school engages students in community connections (internship work w/a mentor and real-world learning projects), school community (they are a part of an advisory that meets twice a day), and projects that start with their own passions and interests.
