Earbuds, as simple as they might be, will assist my students to explore videos to help evidence with research projects and Socratic Seminars preparation, learn from others through sites such as TED-Ed Talks, and/or hear virtual instructors with the website Edgenuity when scaffolding is needed. My creation of playlist and pathways on the website Classcraft, allow students to choose their interest (a video, speech, etc) to learn or relearn material. Whiteboards will be their record of brainstorming, learning of new material, and/or key ideas that they want to remember the most. There is plenty of research stating that writing down knowledge and what students learn, helps the material stick. I can also evaluate their thinking process through whole and/or small group formative assessments, provide feedback, and assist when they need help. Personal earbuds and whiteboards that are easily accessible will not only increase the availability of learning but as a teacher, I can see progress as they explore.
