Our students have a great deal of potential but are limited by their surroundings and their experiences. They don't get many and therefore don't see the much of the world's big picture. Our school is older and in a poor section of the inner city. The children often come to school with the same dirty uniform because they can't wash it. Most don't have books in their home or are unable to bring school supplies on the first day because they don't have the money. Our kids only get to see the perpetual loop of poverty to the point that this is the only world they think exists.
