My students work at a different pace and levels then their same age peers. Chromebooks would allow me to access lessons that meet their specific needs.
We have limited and extremely outdated computers that hinder access for my special need students.
My students want to learn and they are motivated and engaged when using computers.
At this time I use Google Classroom to create lessons. My students are able to access their Google Classrooms to complete lesson, and access many tools to help them work independently. They can also access Google Drive to create writing pieces, and presentations. What would be ¨AWESOME¨ is if my SPECIAL EDUCATION students could access these tools daily with Chromebooks. They all have special accommodations and needs in order to meet their IEP (Individual Education Plan). Many of my students need READERS and SCRIBES and the tools in Google give them access to curriculum and they feel that they have power of "independence"! They are able to use apps such for text readers, and speech to text tools.
Due to our limited and extremely outdated computers this henders access for my special need students on a daily basis.
