I teach a classroom of 23 lively 2nd graders in North Carolina. These children come from diverse backgrounds. In the classroom 25% of our students speak Spanish as a first language at home and 70% of my students receive free or reduced lunch. School is the most stable environment that many of these children experience each day. I love each and everyone of them and strive to make sure their day at school includes knowing they are loved and that they are important.
