My fourth grade students are always very eager to learn. They enjoy working with technology whenever the opportunity arrives. Every time I bring in some new piece of technology, you can always see their eyes light-up with enthusiasm. However, since we are at a Title I school, funds are very limited, and with all the budget cuts, technology is always one of the first ones to go!
All of my students come from low-income homes and most of them don't own a computer or have Internet at home. They are all English language learners. These technology that I am requesting will help them to expand their vocabulary, read a variety of genres that are not available in the classroom or school library, and improve their fluency and comprehension. These skills are very important for any student to be able to succeed.
