I have the privilege of teaching students in grades PreK - 8 at a public school in Baltimore City. In the first few days of school, many of my students are surprised to learn that PE isn't just about playing games. Most of our daily lessons will require some reading and writing as well. I want my students to be great athletes and strong examples of sportsmanship. But at the same time, I want them to learn about the history behind different sports, current trends in athletics, and different ways to build a healthy mind and body.
