My students all face the challenges that come with having "invisible" disabilities, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, visual/auditory processing deficits, and ADHD. On the outside, they look, speak, and act like typical teenagers, but on the inside they're minds are constantly working to make sense of their classes and the world at large. As a result, their needs often go unnoticed or discounted as students who "just aren't trying hard enough." In reality, they have complicated needs that can make school challenging and, at times, overwhelming.
