By making STEM bins, students will be given tasks to complete using materials found in the bins. STEM bins are plastic containers filled with simple engineering manipulatives. They contain photo task cards of real world structures and challenge students to use the items in the bins to create and invent as many structures as possible. They encourage problem solving with creativity.
Students are engaged in creative, complex tasks and are encouraged to think like inventors, architects, and engineers. Building model bridges and buildings, creating complex designs, deciding how to make it better are all parts of this engaging project.
