My school is highly diverse with students from all corners of the world. My classroom reflects this diversity. Students come to me with a wide variety of strengths, abilities, and challenges. While this diversity is fascinating, it also creates challenges for me as a teacher. I want to be sure that every single one of my students is actively participating in meaningful instruction geared toward their unique abilities, strengths, and learning challenges. I strongly believe that each one of my students is capable of learning grade level core material and demonstrating their knowledge; they simply need alternative means of accessing material and demonstrating what they have learned. Einstein said, "Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by it's ability to climb a tree, it will spend it's entire life believing it is stupid." Technology will help my students show just how smart and capable they truly are when we look at their skills outside of standardized measures.
